The musical instruments and amplifiers provided for musicians — drums, guitar amps, bass amps, and keyboards.
Backline refers to the instruments and amplifiers lined up along the back of the stage. When an event provides backline, musicians do not need to transport their own heavy equipment. Backline requirements are listed in the technical rider and coordinated with the AV or staging company. Providing quality backline is especially important for festivals and touring shows where multiple artists share the same stage.
