    Hollow Square

Tables arranged in a closed square with an open centre and chairs on the outside, used for peer discussion groups.

The hollow square configuration works well for executive roundtables, strategy workshops, and sessions where there is no single presenter and all participants are equal in status. The enclosed format encourages open debate. Like the boardroom, it limits the maximum number of attendees and offers no good focal point for presentations, so it is rarely used for events with significant AV components.
