A set of requirements submitted by a performer, speaker, or VIP covering their technical, hospitality, and logistical needs.
A rider has two components: the technical rider (AV and staging requirements) and the hospitality rider (green room food, beverages, accommodation, transport). Hospitality riders for major artists can be highly specific — specifying certain brands of water, temperature requirements, or dietary needs. Understanding and fulfilling rider requirements is part of ensuring talent is comfortable and performs at their best.
