A pre-event test of all audio equipment with performers or presenters to confirm levels and quality.
A sound check is performed after the PA system is set up and before the event opens. Each presenter or performer speaks or performs at their normal level while the sound engineer adjusts gain, EQ, and monitors. Sound checks prevent feedback issues, volume surprises, and microphone failures during the live event. Allowing adequate time for sound checks — especially with multiple presenters — is essential when building the production schedule.
