A run-through of the event programme focused on technical elements — lighting, sound, video, and transitions.
A tech rehearsal is often held the afternoon or evening before the event. The stage manager calls through the run sheet cue by cue while the AV team executes each lighting change, sound effect, video playback, and scene transition. The goal is to identify technical problems and refine timing before the event goes live. Tech rehearsals are particularly important for award ceremonies, conferences with complex presentations, and live entertainment events.
