Rows of chairs facing a stage or screen with no tables — the setup that maximises seated audience capacity.
Theatre-style seating is used when the event is primarily a presentation or keynote where no note-taking or dining is required. It accommodates the most people per square metre of any seated configuration. The main drawback is that attendees cannot easily write, use laptops, or access materials without a hard surface. Aisles must be factored into capacity calculations and fire egress requirements must be met.
